Sebastian’s Action Trust – Ash House Extension, Crowthorne

We were honoured to work with Sebastian’s Action Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting seriously ill children and their families by providing spaces for respite, memory-making, and care during unimaginably difficult times.

Ash House – a Grade II listed Victorian villa set within secluded woodland – serves as the heart of the Trust’s operations and a sanctuary for therapy and support.

Our design for a new two-storey extension replaces an outdated temporary building and plant room with purpose-built facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, multifunction space, counselling and wellbeing rooms, and a staff apartment.

Set within a tranquil landscape, the design blends sensitively with the surrounding environment, incorporating a green roof, solar panels, and timber cladding. A glazed link provides a light-touch connection to the historic house, creating a welcoming entrance and improving accessibility.

This was a incredibly rewarding project for our team, and we were proud to support the Trust’s vital mission by providing our architectural services on a pro bono basis.
